My 41st Birthday at Buffalo Park – Tupelo, MS

Last year, I celebrated my birthday in Disney World, this year I celebrated my birthday in Red Bay, Alabama. I love Red Bay, but it doesn’t have the same magic Disney World has. When Lee asked me what I wanted to do, I decided to go to Buffalo Park in Tupelo, MS (a 50- minute drive from Red Bay).

Buffalo Park is a drive-through park where you can feed the animals from the car. We bought 2 buckets of food, which in hindsight was not enough, because we ran out of food and I felt horrible telling the animals at the end we were out.

It was so much fun! Zebra, Buffalo, Ostrich, and other animals would come to eat the food and make a mess. If you didn’t hold the food outside the car enough, they would stick their heads in the car looking for it. The Ostrich was hilarious as they would peak at the bowl and if you weren’t holding on to it, could easily drop it.

My favorite animal was the zonkey (zebra/donkey mix). He was so cute and had the best ears – if you know me, you know I have an obsession with animal’s ears.

After we drove through Buffalo Park, we headed to dinner. The first restaurant was closed, the second didn’t have fried green tomatoes on the menu (even though the google menu said they did). I was hangry at this point, so we left since I really wanted fried green tomatoes. The third restaurant was Mt Fuji Japanese Steakhouse. It has great food and it’s always fun to watch the chef cook the food in front of you.

At the end of the day, I went to the cupcake shop in Red Bay and got my free birthday cupcake!

All in all, it wasn’t a Disney Birthday, but it was still fun.
