2020 Overview

2020 was an interesting year, to say the least. It started off with a vacation to Disney World with my parents, sister, and brother-in-law to celebrate my 40th birthday. Little did we know 2 months later our travels would come to a screeching halt when the pandemic hit. Everything shut down and we had to figure out what to do as full-time RVers. After two months in Indiana, RV Parks started opening up for full-timers and we decided to hit the road. Our new plan was to hit as many National Parks as we could and focus on outdoor adventures.

We decided to make the best of 2020 in a cautious way. We carefully choose the places we were going to go, made reservations, limited our interactions with people and I was careful where I shopped for groceries. Thankfully, I found that while people in the big cities had a hard time finding Clorox and Lysol wipes, small-town America didn’t. So, I was able to keep a nice supply of cleaning products on hand.

Our Adventures included:

  • Traveling 8,393 miles
  • 14 States
  • 29 RV Parks
  • 9 National Parks
  • 4 National Forests
  • 4 National Monuments
  • 4 National Recreational Areas
  • 7 State Parks
  • 4 Scenic Byways
  • 2 Historical Landmarks
  • 4 Caves (pre-covid)
  • 2 Space Centers
  • 4 Dinosaur Museums
  • 6 Dinosaur Track Sites
  • 4 Amusement Parks (pre-covid)
  • 4 Zoos
  • 10 Distilleries

Overall, 2020 was a challenging year as a full timer. We cancelled plans, made new plans, and just rolled with the punches. We aren’t making plans for 2021 yet, so we will see what the future hold for us.
